Embedding is to place a tissue sample into the melted paraffin in a way that when the paraffin solidifies it will become in form of a block and holds the tissue sample in a direction that is to be cut. There are special tools for embedding like the L shaped molds used in conventional methods and the plastic tissue cassettes in the new methods.
